Long overcoat is waterproof
With the onset of wet weather, it is time to remind officers of the various waterproof properties of the long overcoat, which also doubles as a raincoat.
The long overcoat-cum-raincoat is made of GORE® Corporation's Crosstech® material, which is more advanced than GOR-TEX® in that it has the additional properties of being blood, body fluid, and chemical penetration resistant. It also comes with a Crosstech® fire-retardant inner lining, and its seams are sealed to further enhance waterproofing. Both the inner layer and inner sleeve are detachable, allowing for greater comfort in all types of weather.
Although the Crosstech® material is more expensive, yet given its advanced performance, it is widely used by many disciplined services around the world.
