The Hong Kong Police Golfing Society hosted the final round of the Disciplined Services Annual Golf Tournament at the Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course on March 27. The tournament started in 2001 with the support of former Commissioner Tsang Yam-pui. With the growing popularity of golf and the keen support of all the affiliated sports societies, it has become a major sports event for the disciplined services in Hong Kong, consisting of six rounds - five on the Mainland, and one in Hong Kong. The final round in Hong Kong attracted around 160 golfers from Customs and Excise Department, Correctional Services Department, Fire Services Department, Hong Kong Police Force and Immigration Department, as well as a combined team formed by the Independent Commission Against Corruption, Civil Aid Service, Government Flying Service and Security Bureau. Although the sky threatened to break, it held up long enough for the tournament to come to a successful conclusion. Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee lent full support to the tournament not only by donating a beautiful trophy for the "Gross Division", but also by being one of the players. Commissioner Lee Ming-kwai, Police Golfing Society Chairman Lo Yik-kee and senior officers from other disciplined services also graced the occasion by presenting prizes. After six rounds of competition, Customs and Excise Department won the "Net Division" title, whilst Fire Services Department was the worthy winner of the "Gross Division". The Police team ranked second in the "Gross Division".
