DCP OPS attends Interpol meeting

Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Tang King-shing led an 11-member delegation to attend the 19th Interpol Asian Regional Conference, which was held in Jakarta, Indonesia between April 11 and 13. Also attending the conference were 160 law enforcement officers from 35 Interpol member countries across Asia and the Pacific region.

The conference is a biennial event, providing a forum for discussion on matters relating to security and policing, among police forces in the Asian region. It also aims at enhancing international police co-operation on a regional basis for combating transnational crime. The theme of this year's conference was "Supporting Law Enforcement Front Line Services".

The Force will host the 20th Interpol Asian Regional Conference in 2008.
