Withdrawal of quarters application
Question: "I'm Sergeant Man. Earlier on I applied for a unit at the Wong Tai Sin Disciplined Services Quarters through POINT. I now decide to withdraw my application for personal reasons. What should I do to make such a withdrawal and shall I be eligible to apply for any quarters again in the future?"
Answer: According to FPM 62-16(8), a police officer, who declines a quarters unit after he has succeeded in an allocation, will not be permitted to make further application for a period of 12 months from the date of the allocation. However, if the officer notifies the Quarters Allocation Committee in writing in no less than seven days before the committee's meeting for allocation, his withdrawal of application will be accepted. Under such circumstances, the above suspension period will not apply to your future application because of your present withdrawal.
