The Police Swimming Team dominated the Corporate Games Swimming Competition 2006 held in the Ma On Shan Swimming Pool last month, winning 19 gold, 14 silver, 13 bronze and nine Iron medals in 19 events, as well as the trophy for the Overall Championship.

The Police Swimming Team has won the Overall Championship title for the fourth consecutive year since 2002. Besides medals and trophies, it has also set a new Force record in the Corporate Games.

Cheered on by the Police Sports Council Vice-chairman Cheung Siu-wah, and the Police Swimming Club Chairman Wong Fook-chuen, the 45-member police swimming team blitzed the opposition from over 30 private organisations and government departments.

The Games is a major personal achievement for Woman Police Constable Leung Siu-ling of Commercial Crime Bureau, who set a new Force record of 1 min 21 sec 16 in Women's 100M Free Style, 1.5 sec faster than the old record she kept.

As guests of honour of the Corporate Games, Mr Cheung and Mr Wong presented medals and trophies to the winners.

Big day for the Force Swimming Team
