Assistant Commissioner (Crime) Wong Fook-chuen emphasised the importance of international co-operation and exchange of intelligence in tackling trans-national drugs trafficking, when he addressed the closing of a two-day study visit to the Narcotics Bureau (NB) by delegates from the Singapore Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).

He pointed out that law enforcement agencies needed to join forces to meet the challenges posed by criminals who know no borders, and to keep evolving so as to respond to new developments in drug-related crimes.

The study visit to Hong Kong was the final part of CNB's Advanced Narcotics Enforcement Programme. A Chief Inspector from NB has attended the programme in Singapore.

In return, NB officers presented to the delegates a wide range of topics about narcotics investigation and shared their experience in intelligence and operation management, as well as financial investigation. NB also arranged for the guests to visit the Narcotics Division of the Security Bureau and a drug rehabilitation centre.

Another useful exchange on the anti-narcotics front
