The Australian Government has complimented the Narcotics Bureau (NB) for assisting the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in dismantling the largest crystal methamphetamine (ICE) laboratory ever uncovered in Australia and arresting seven Australian nationals involved in a sophisticated drug syndicate.

On behalf of his government, the Consul-General of Australia in Hong Kong, Mr Murray Cobban, presented the "National Managers Certificate" in his office on May 4 to nine NB officers who were led by Assistant Commissioner (Crime) Wong Fook-chuen.

NB and AFP began mounting an anti-drug operation in October 2005. Based on the intelligence provided by NB, the operation turned overt in Northern New South Wales on April 7.
