The Western District has once again earned the praises of the local community for a job well done. On June 6, representatives of the Central & Western District Council, Central & Western District Fight Crime Committee, Southern District Council, Southern District Fight Crime Committee and Taxi & Public Light Bus Concern Group, as well as victims of crime called at the Western Police Station and presented silver plates and tapestry flags to officers for cracking robberies, burglaries and triad-related crime, as well as for preventing crime. Among the accused brought to justice by the officers, one was jailed for eight years for committing a series of taxi robberies. At the same presentation ceremony, Western District Commander Chiu Wai-yin also presented letters of compliments to eight officers for their outstanding performances, as well as letters of appreciation to 22 citizens from the local community for displaying big drawings on the outer wall of the Western Police Station to disseminate crime prevention messages. |
