Peak race to combat drug abuse

Central District and the Central District Junior Police Call (JPC) Honorary Presidents' Council held the 18th Central District Anti-drug Fight Crime Shield Run at the Peak on October 7 to strengthen communication between the police and various organisations, and encourage public participation in the fight against drugs, especially drug abuse by youths.

This round-the-peak race drew over 300 participants, including JPC members, members of youth groups from Macao and representatives from various disciplinary forces and business groups.

Hong Kong Island Regional Commander Hung Hak-wai; Central District Commander Wong Chi-hung; Chairman of the Preventive Education and Publicity Sub-Committee of the Action Committee Against Narcotics, Ms Scarlett Pong Oi-lan; Chairman of the Central and Western District Fight Crime Committee, Mr Yip Wing-shing, and Chairman of the Central District JPC Honorary Presidents' Council, Mr Lee Ying-sang, officiated at the kick-off ceremony.
