Great fun at KE Regional Sports Day

On a warm and breezy day on Friday, November 2, some 500 disciplined and civilian staff turned up at Kowloon East Region's Annual Sports Day, held in the Police Sports and Recreation Club. The events of the day ranged from the highly competitive 7-a-side football, squash, tennis and tug-of-war to the slightly more cerebral ten pin bowling and light hearted fun games relay and cheering teams competition.

Starting at 9 am in a thoroughly light hearted atmosphere, the events saw officers competing tooth and nail for the Region's Major and Minor Unit trophies.

The day reached a climax when Acting Kowloon East Regional Commander, Mr Fung Kwok-on, accompanied by District and Formation Commanders, formally kicked off the hard fought final in 7-a-side football between Wong Tai Sin District and Kwun Tong District, with the latter eventually winning 2 - 1.

Finally, Wong Tai Sin District and Traffic Kowloon East captured the Major and Minor Unit Trophies respectively, with the latter also claiming the championship of the cheering team competition.
