Mainland officers visit T HKI |

A party of 25 public security officers from Beijing, Shenyang, Lanzhou, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Nanning, Shenzhen and Huhehaote visited Traffic Branch PHQ and Enforcement and Control Division of Traffic Hong Kong Island (T HKI) from November 27 to 29. Following a warm welcome by Senior Superintendent Chiu Kai-ting, Superintendent (Enforcement & Control) Chan Fung-hau and Chief Inspector (Enforcement & Control) Guy Lown, the Mainland visitors attended a presentation by Road Management Officer Arthur Wong on the command structure of T HKI, major regulations of traffic enforcement, procedures of handling traffic accidents and publicity and education on road safety. Enforcement and control officers also demonstrated the usage and functions of various equipment used for tackling traffic offenders. The Mainland visitors showed a great interest in anti-drink driving breathalyser and anti-speeding laser gun. They also tried on the protective jacket to get a feel of being a traffic officer. The leader of the party, Mr Luo Junyi, Chief of Public Security Bureau Traffic Management Science Research Centre, expressed gratitude to T HKI for arranging the presentation. The visit will help enhance traffic management in both Mainland and Hong Kong.
