KE promotes family harmony

To support the Force policy on "Integrated Approach to Physical Fitness and Health Management", Kowloon East Region and Kowloon Welfare Office jointly held a family life education programme on December 2 to promote a healthy lifestyle and family harmony, attracting 200 disciplined and civilian officers as well as their families.

The event began in the morning with Acting Kowloon East Regional Commander Fung Kwok-on officiating at the opening ceremony at PSRC and encouraging the participants to lead a healthy and harmonious family life. Also present at the ceremony were Kwun Tong District Commander Law Ping-kuen, Senior Superintendent (Administration) Kowloon East Ng Wing-yin, Superintendent (Administration) Kowloon East Tse Kwok-wai, Force Welfare Officer Kowloon To Ming-yin and Police Handicraft Club representative, Woman Sergeant Lee Wing-yee.

After the ceremony, Mrs Laurence Man, an experienced family therapist and psychological counsellor gave a talk on "How to Maintain Family Harmony", focusing with role-plays on the means and techniques to resolve family conflicts between parents and children and between couples and in-laws. Mrs Man also took many questions from the audience who showed a great interest in her presentation.

At the same time, members of the Police Handicraft Club ran art workshops at the venue for officers' children to enjoy the fun of making handicrafts. The programme concluded with a lunch buffet and a half-day trip to the Hong Kong Wetland Park in the afternoon.
