Concert in aid of Welfare Fund |

The Police Charity Folks Concert held by the Hong Kong Police Guitar Folk Song Club (HKPGFSC) on the evening of January 16 raised $23,000 for the Police Welfare Fund. It ended with thunderous applause from a packed auditorium at the Sheung Wan Civic Centre.
With former Deputy Commissioner (Management) Fung Siu-yuen officiating, the concert drew hundreds of guests, senior officers of the Force, Force members and their families. The concert lasted for more than two hours with 20 folk songs written over different periods of time. Moreover, it was honoured by the participation of the Folk Song Group of the Hong Kong Police Band. Before the concert came to an end, a party was held to bid farewell to Mr Fung and Superintendent Cheung Kim-ping, Chairperson of the HKPGFSC, who will also retire soon. The impressive performance ended in a joyful and warm atmosphere with a thunderous applause from the guests and audience who joined the HKPGFSC members in singing "Auld Lang Syne" as the finale of the concert.
