Over 300 crime stream officers from New Territories South (NTS) Region gathered at Police Sports and Recreation Club on the evening of January 17 to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of the NTS CID Night. The occasion was also used to honour the recipients of the "Crime Prevention Suggestion Contest Award", Commanding Officer's Commendation and the Best District Investigation Team (DIT) Award of the Region.

The 10 elite crime busters who have together won the prestigious title of the Best DIT are Woman Detective Senior Inspector Fung Siu-ling, Detective Sergeants Lai Shu-choi (now SSGT) and Chan Chi-kin, Detective Constables Mak Keung, Lam Cheuk-yin, Yim Yeung-ming, Fong Yuk, Lau Hing-cheung and Law Wai-lun, and Detective Woman Police Constable Chung Siu-fong, all from DIT 6 of Kwai Tsing District. They were each presented with a certificate by former NTS Regional Commander Tang How-kong at a presentation ceremony.

As the Best DIT Award has been hotly contested by five DITs from NTS Region, each nominated by its own District, KWT DIT 6 can be regarded as the best of the best DITs in the Region. Therefore, the other four DITs were also presented with a certificate by their own District Commanders at the presentation ceremony, in recognition of their work performances.
