YTDIST plays host to police mentees |

Mentees of the 2007/08 Police Mentorship Programme (PMP), led by police mentors, visited Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) on February 1 as the fourth major event of the PMP. Accompanied by staff of the District, the mentees toured various frontline sub-units inside the Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station, including Patrol Sub-Units, Operations Support Sub-Unit, Miscellaneous Enquiries Sub-Unit and Crime Investigation Teams. By interacting with officers of the units, they gained an insight into frontline police work and familiarised themselves with police equipment and facilities. In his welcoming speech, YTDIST Commander Chung Hung-fung briefed the visitors on the special features of his District. As the Deputy Head Mentor of the PMP, he encouraged the mentees to join the Force after their graduation from universities. Six junior Inspectors of Yau Tsim District met the mentees and gave them useful tips on how to prepare for the police recruitment selection. Other officers, including the police mentors and the District's management staff, also shared their police experiences with the mentees and answered their queries. After the visit, the mentees found their familiarisation programme interesting and informative.
