On April 14, Chief Superintendent Michael Demaid-Groves from the Traffic Branch Headquarters presented promotion letters to 12 Traffic Wardens promoted to the rank of Senior Traffic Warden. The promotion took effect on the same day.

The officers are Mary Chu Wai-ling, Lam Chi-ming, Henry Pak Chi-kwong, Kalvin Ng Kam-sing, Sin Pui-yan, Yeung Siu-ling, Kwan Pui-man, Dannial Lo Chi-wa, Lau Wai-man, Chang Kan-han, Yeung Pui-ling and Ng Yeuk-yin.

A Traffic Warden promotion exercise was conducted in 2002 but was subsequently shelved because of the Second Voluntary Retirement Scheme, which covered the Traffic Warden grade. The last promotion to Senior Traffic Warden was conducted in 1999.

Traffic Branch Headquarters is conducting a recruitment exercise to fill about 20 Traffic Warden vacancies, which have arisen from promotion and natural wastage.
