New Territories North Regional Commander Cheung Siu-wah, accompanied by Tai Po Deputy District Commander Cheung Chun-por, visited the Tier II Yuen Long District Platoon when the latter was receiving Venue Task Force Training at the Police Tactical Unit Headquarters.

Amongst the Tier II Regional Internal Security Companies, the NTN Regional Internal Security Company will be deployed to perform Venue Task Force duties during the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events which will be held in Sha Tin and Beas River Country Club in August and September this year. Company members commenced their three-day Venue Task Force Training in March this year and Mr Cheung has paid visits to the Tier II Platoons to show support and encouragement to the officers.

Mr Cheung's visits have boosted the officers' morale and updated them on the Force's planning and preparation for policing these important international events. He has also encouraged officers to do more physical exercises to better prepare themselves for a physically demanding working condition, particularly in the hot summer. .
