The application exercise for grants, bursaries and scholarships from the Police Children's Education Trust (PCET) and the Police Education & Welfare Trust (PE&WT) for the academic year 2008-09 will start on June 30. The Education Trusts aim at providing financial assistance for the education of children of police officers and encouragement to those who are academically brilliant.

For this year, owing to the heavy commitment of Force members to the Equestrian Events, the application period has been specifically extended by one month to cover three months from June 30 to September 30 to give officers sufficient time to submit applications for their children. Detailed information and application forms can be obtained from Personnel Services & Staff Relations Branch Headquarters, Regional Welfare Offices, offices of Training and Staff Relations Officers, or downloaded from the Personnel Services & Staff Relations Branch website in Police Intranet (POINT) or Hong Kong Police Internet Homepage. Grants for disabled children and compassionate cases should be applied through Regional Welfare Offices. Late applications will not be considered.
