"Report Spam" Function in PEN |
||
The PEN system replaced the Anti-Spam tool in 2007. The new tool has achieved a high standard filter rate of above 90 per cent on average. The suspected Spam emails are filtered and moved to the SPAM folder after a leading string "<--SPAM-->" is added to the subject of the emails.
However, PEN users may still find some unfiltered Spam emails in their Inbox. The "Report Spam" function of PEN, launched Force-wide in April this year, may help in these circumstances. Simply select the unfiltered Spam email in the Inbox and click the "Report Spam" button. 1. The selected email will be moved to the SPAM folder. 2. If the same sender is reported by other users and the number of reports meets a certain criterion, the sender will be blacklisted and subsequent emails sent by this sender will be filtered as Spam. If you would like to know more about this function, a comprehensive user guide can be found in "PEN Help" - search with keyword "report Spam". More Anti-Spam functions in PEN will be shown in coming issues.
