Acting Chief Superintendent (Personnel Service and Staff Relations) So Kam-tong received an Award of Merit on behalf of the Force from Mrs Selina Tsang, President of the Community Chest, at the Chest's 2007/08 Annual Presentation of Awards Ceremony at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on June 25. It is the tradition of the Force to support the Community Chest and to foster a sense of civic responsibility among Force members.

In the 2007/08 Campaign Year, the Community Chest raised a record high of over $258 million for local charities. Over 145 public and private member agencies of the Community Chest were present at the award ceremony.
