The New Territories North Region has opened a Crime Prevention Exhibition Room (CPER) to provide the public with information on modern security. Situated on the first floor of the Tseng Choi Street Government Services Complex in Tuen Mun, the NTN CPER is a welcome addition to Crime Prevention Bureau's Display Room. NTN Regional Commander Cheung Siu-wah opened the CPER in the presence of about 300 guests, including members of District Fight Crime Committees, District Councils, schools, teacher-parents associations, Non-governmental Organisations, Owners' Incorporations, government departments, and representatives of security product suppliers. At the invitation of the New Territories North Regional Crime Prevention Office, a total of 17 companies had sat in the Preparatory Working Committee for the CPER project. The CPER displays modern security equipment and devices, and provides useful information on crime prevention. On display are many different kinds of devices, such as door and window locks, digital video monitoring systems, retail security system, access control system and other security systems. Companies or organisations may organise visits to the exhibition room by advance booking. During the visits, the officers of the NTN Regional Crime Prevention Office will be on hand to explain the functions of the exhibits so that members of the public can choose the security products that will cater for their needs. Following the opening ceremony, the guests toured the exhibition room, tried their hands on some security products and provided feedback. In addition to providing updated information on crime prevention, NTN Region will continue organising anti-crime activities.
