The Centralised Coroners' Office (CCO) held a one-day experience-sharing seminar in PHQ on October 13 on death investigations and inquests. The seminar was organised in line with the Commissioner's Strategic Directions on improving procedures to optimise the professionalism of frontline officers, and supporting frontline officers in realising their potentials through training.

Open to Inspectorate officers and Junior Police Officers from frontline units dealing with death enquiries, the seminar provided an opportunity for the participants to discuss various issues concerning death investigations and inquests.

Facilitated by the Coroners Officers (COs) of the CCO - Senior Inspectors Tse Tin-hoo, Wong Wai-keung, Chan Kam-ying and Wong Yiu-chuen - the seminar also provided a platform for discussing in a frank and informal manner matters concerning death investigation "best practice" and the requirements set by Coroners.

A keynote of the seminar was the importance of communication between investigating officers and COs. In light of this, officers are welcome to raise any query they might have with COs, who can be contacted on 2886-6830.
