Twenty-four final-year students studying for an Associate Degree of Applied Social Sciences in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice at the Hong Kong University School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPACE), visited Western District last month to get an insight into police work.

The students spent nearly two hours in the District, visiting Report Room, interview room, prisoners' cell, and Police Community Relations Office, and viewing traditional police equipment and accoutrements.

After the visit, the students said the visit was interesting and stimulating, enabling them to understand better the organisation, operations and policing problems of the District, duties of frontline officers, police community relations work, and handling of complaints against police.
