The hotline can be used to report any kind of drug offence, from sharing drugs among peers and street peddling to wholesale of and major trafficking in drugs. Members of the public are also encouraged to report possession of drugs for personal use.

The hotline forms part of a concerted effort to rally the community behind the fight against drugs and to stem drug traffickers' sources of income. Its new name will be used in all publicity materials, and Police Public Relations Branch is assisting in bringing the new name to the attention of the public.
