Force members raise $4.7 m for charity
Force members contributed over $1.2 and $3.5 million respectively during the Force-wide collection of voluntary donations, conducted in February 2008 and May 2008 in support of the Hong Kong Red Cross' campaigns to help the snowstorm and earthquake victims on the Mainland.
Chief Superintendent (Personnel Services and Staff Relations) Choi Wong Fung-yee received on behalf of the Force a Certificate of Commendation at the Hong Kong Red Cross Relief Donor Award Ceremony 2008 held on February 12. The Hong Kong Red Cross was most appreciative of the Force's donation to the snowstorm and the earthquake victims.
The Force Management takes the opportunity to thank again the Police Credit Union, Major Formations, Formations, staff associations, sports and arts clubs, and all disciplined, civilian and auxiliary staff for their voluntary assistance and generous donations for a worthwhile cause.
