The Joint Management Committee for the Police Children's Education Trust (PCET) and the Police Education and Welfare Trust (PE&WT) has endorsed a budget of $6.49 million for disbursement of scholarships, bursaries and compassionate /disabilities grants for the academic year 2008/2009. There are 79 scholarship awardees, of whom 45 have won the Scholarship for Outstanding Secondary Six Students; 33, Outstanding Year One University Students; and one, the Providence Foundation Medical Scholarship for Year One Medical Student. In addition, 453 bursary applications and 222 compassionate and disabilities grants were approved. Disbursement of the scholarships, bursaries and grants will start this month.
