To celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the "May Fourth Movement", Yuen Long District Council and Yuen Long Town Hall have jointly organised the Yuen Long Youth Festival to raise young people's sense of belonging and commitments to society. The event also aims at promoting multi-cultural communities at the same time.

Following an officiating ceremony performed by the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-shing, and Commissioner Tang King-shing, the Yuen Long Youth Festival commenced with a Multi-cultural Procession in Tin Shui Wai. Participating in the procession were more than 40 teams and 4,000 people from different local ethnic minority groups and youth organisations.

Following the procession was the opening ceremony of the "Multi-cultural Village" in Tin Shui Wai. The officiating guest was New Territories North Regional Commander Cheung Siu-wah, and there were 25 youth and multi-cultural counters, including those set up by Junior Police Call and Police Community Relations Office.

The Yuen Long Youth Festival lasts for two months from May to June with various activities, including an 8-km race, concert and variety show. Yuen Long District is committed to promoting such a large-scale community event. Besides their operational commitments and liaison with the organising committee, the volunteer service teams of Tin Shui Wai Division and officers of the Police Tactical Unit "C" Company have rendered full support for the event.
