Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, thanked the Force and the many other government departments for their hard work in taking part in the quarantine operations at a hotel in Wan Chai. Quarantine measures were imposed on 286 guests and staff members of the Metropark Hotel in Wan Chai, after confirmation of a case of human swine influenza (Influenza A H1N1) in Hong Kong on May 1. Following the end of the 7-day quarantine period at 8:30 pm on May 8, 208 hotel guests were transferred from the hotel to various destinations, including other hotels and the airport. The Police, led by Wan Chai District, worked closely with other government departments to facilitate the quarantine operations, which were brought to a smooth conclusion with a full display of professionalism and dedication. |
