Officer/Unit Appreciation from Service commended
PCs Ng Chun-sing and Chan Yiu-kin, both from Patrol Sub-Unit 4 of APTDIST Royal Consulate General of Saudi Arabia (Hong Kong) The Royal Consulate General of Saudi Arabia wrote to APTDIST expressing thanks and gratitude for the assistance given by the officers in a case in which a Saudi Arabian citizen lost his property somewhere in Hong Kong in April this year. With the officers' dedicated efforts, the lost property was subsequently located. Their professionalism, patience and enthusiasm have projected a positive image for the Force.
SGT Chan Woon-chung and PC Ng Kwun-chiu, both from Patrol Sub-Unit 2 of APTDIST A service company at the Airport Terminal The company complimented the officers for their professionalism in handling a dispute between the company and an airline passenger.
DVC LMCDIV Siu Heung-wing and his officers, SGTs Cheung Lai-yin and Leung Wai-yip, and PCs Wong Ho-yin and Chung Hing-lung WWF Hong Kong The Manager of WWF Hong Kong's Mai Po Centre thanked the officers for successfully mounting an anti-burglary operation, during which a suspect was caught red-handed outside the centre. The manager also thanked LMCDIV for following up the case.
SGT Lai Wing-kit, PCs Ma Ka-yan, Yung Yee-wing, Fung Wing-hong, Tse Chi-hong, Leung Wai-hang, Leung Wai-sum and Goh Ka-lun, and WPC Chan Hoi-shan, all from TFSU TSDIV A fast food chain The fast food chain expressed special thanks for the officers' professionalism and efficiency in apprehending a suspect for stealing a cash box for charity at its shop at the Sun Tsui Estate Shopping Centre, Sha Tin.
Officers of TFSU KCDIV Two school girls The officers were carrying out an anti-crime operation in Kowloon City when they spotted a man following two girls into a building. Concerned about the girls' safety, the officers stopped and questioned the man, who subsequently admitted intending to peep into the girls' skirts. After the man was convicted in court of loitering, the girls wrote to KCDIST to thank the officers for acting promptly to protect them.
SGT Wong Chun-nam, WSGT Ko Lap-tung, PC Wong Chi-kin and WPC Yu Pui-shan, all from RMPU KE, and SSGT Keung Kwai-wing, SGT Chiu Yu-keung and SPC Kum Siu-hon, all from PSU 1 SKDIV Sister of a missing person The Police located the missing person near the Plover Cove Reservoir in Sai Kung eight days after he failed to return home after work. In a letter to CP, the missing person's sister said she was very impressed by what the officers had done for her; acting promptly; keeping her informed of progress of the search for her brother, and showing a lot of care and concern. She added that the officers make Hong Kong feel proud of their services, and uphold the Force's reputation of being "Asia's Finest"
SGT Wong Chun-tat, PCs Cheung Chi-pong and Li Ming, and WPC Fong Kuen-yin, all from TYDIV Father of a missing girl The father thanked the officers for conducting a thorough search within Cheung Hong Estate, and finally locating his missing daughter.
Officers of PTU B4 KW A local hotel The hotel paid tribute to the officers for performing their duties in a "responsible, serious and polite" manner whilst conducting patrol. The hotel also said it was amazed by the officers' "persistent competence".
