Construction of the Tuen Mun Wu Hong Police Quarters is going on smoothly and the new quarters are expected to be ready for occupation in March next year. The new quarters site is situated at Wu Hong Street, Tuen Mun, next to Castle Peak Police Station. The site is easily accessible by public transport, and is adjacent to a commercial complex at Siu Hei Court. The site is also close to the Siu Hei Light Rail Station, bus stops and various mini-bus routes providing transport to Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories. Furthermore, the quarters are just a few minutes' drive away from the Tuen Mun Ferry Pier. Development of the new quarters comprises two 22-storey blocks and ancillary facilities, including a clubhouse, common recreational facilities, and parking spaces. There will be a total of 336 quarters units, comprising 84 "F" grade units (69.6 square metres) and 252 "G" grade units (54.5 to 54.6 square metres). Each unit has three bedrooms and some units will also be provided with ensuite bathroom. Police Quartering Division is now liaising with Architectural Services Department to complete on-site show flats, which will be open for viewing to all Force members. Information concerning the new site has been posted at the display corner in the main hall of the Police Sports and Recreation Club since July 31, and uploaded on the Police Quartering Division webpage. The division has also set up a hotline, 2860-2965, to deal with enquiries during office hours.
