New Territories North Regional Commander Cheung Siu-wah recently performed ribbon cutting to declare open the Tai Po canteen, which had been closed for five months for renovation.

The renovation included installing a new central air-conditioning system and rebuilding the kitchens from the drains upwards! The renovation was part of an extensive programme of works on Tai Po Police Station, overseen by Woman Sergeant Fong Ching-yi. She said: "I am pleased that we have managed to complete this part of the works in time for the RC to re-open the canteen before he retires. The project has been complicated, but the result is very satisfying. All the staff should enjoy the more comfortable surroundings and improved facilities."

"I am very happy to be able to re-open this integral part of the critical infrastructure of the Tai Po and NTN Regional Headquarters complex. I have been missing my afternoon tea!" said Mr Cheung.
