Commissioner Tang King-shing hosted a seminar for 30 members of the Hospital Authority's (HA) Executive Leadership Development Programme at the Foundation Training Centre on 24 November.

The seminar was organised at the request of HA Chief Executive, Mr Shane Solomon, and formed part of a series of briefings to help participants of the programme develop the competencies and skills for key leadership roles within the HA.

At the start of the seminar, Mr Tang expressed his sincere gratitude to the HA for the professional medical treatment and care provided for a number of officers who had suffered serious injuries on duty during the past few years. He then gave a comprehensive briefing on the organisation of the Force, internal communication, and human resource strategies, as well as efforts to develop a healthy and caring workforce.

The presentation was followed by a group discussion during which the participants raised many questions with a panel consisting of the Commissioner, Director of Personnel and Training, Director of Management Services, and Assistant Commissioner (Personnel). The discussion was interactive and covered a wide range of matters, including staff development, succession management, "Living-the-Values" workshops, complaint handling, media relations, and personal leadership styles.

At the end of the group discussion, Mr Solomon thanked CP for arranging an insightful seminar and looked forward to more experience sharing between the HA and the Force for the benefit of both organisations.
