In line with the Force Strategic Direction 2010-2012 of "Supporting Frontline Units", the Police Licensing Office (PLO) this year will continue to run the annual licensing seminar to update frontline officers on the latest information and Force policy on licensing-related matters.

The seminar will be held at the Arsenal House Auditorium from 2:30pm to 5:45pm on March 25. The speakers will be PLO officers and a representative from the Environmental Protection Department. The target participants are Assistant Divisional Commanders (Administration), Miscellaneous Enquiries Sub-unit officers, District and Divisional Licensing Officers, and divisional command personnel or officers with an interest in licensing work.

Topics of the seminar will include Licensing Policy Risk Assessment, processing of liquor licence and money lender licence, handling of noise complaints against licensed premises, and enhanced regulation of privately held firearms and massage establishments. The seminar will also serve as a platform for officers performing licence-related duties to share their experiences with fellow officers.

Interested officers may register by PEN to coordination-general-licensing before March 23. Enquiries should be directed to Superintendent (Licensing) Eric Cheng on 2860-6525, Chief Inspector (Licensing 1) Jenny Lai on 2860-6521, or Chief Inspector (Licensing 2) Tracey Lee on 2860-6533.
