Twenty-six disciplined and civilian members of the Force have been honoured for submitting a total of 21 submissions to the Police Staff Suggestions Scheme.

Of the submissions, one was awarded Gold Award Certificate, and the rest were awarded Letter of Appreciation.

The winners received their prizes from the then Director of Management Services Tang Kam-moon in a ceremony at the Arsenal House Auditorium on February 26, witnessed by their Major Formation and Formation Commanders.

Speaking at the award presentation ceremony, Mr Tang said that since its inception in 1994, the Suggestions Scheme had received wide and enthusiastic support from staff. In the past 15 years, more than 5,500 suggestions were received, including the 500 proposals received last year. "I am most impressed by the innovation shown by the staff and their commitment to continuous improvement," he added.

Mr Tang pointed out that the Police Staff Suggestions Committee selected the award winners after careful scrutiny and deliberation.

The suggestion scheme aims at encouraging staff to constantly seek improvements by coming up with suggestions that would improve efficiency, work procedures and practices, as well as service delivery.

"If staff pay attention to what they are doing every day and give some thoughts to the problems they come across at work, I'm sure they would be able to come up with ways to get things done more efficiently and effectively," he noted.

All disciplined and civilian members of the Force are encouraged to submit their suggestions via POINT (select < Frequently Used Links > click < Internal Links > and then click < Police Staff Suggestions Scheme >).
