Lantau promotes community harmony
Lantau District recently held a Lantau District Community Day - 2010 to provide a platform for people from different walks of life to interact and come to know each other better as well as to promote integration of the non-ethnic Chinese residents living in Lantau.
Officiating at this function to promote community harmony were Island District Council Chairman, Mr Lam Wai-keung, Rural Committees chairpersons, Junior Police Call Honorary Presidents, school principals and New Territories South Regional Commander Tse Shu-chun.
During the event, fight crime and anti-drug messages were disseminated to the participants through an inter-school mobile phone video production competition, which aimed at enlisting public support for the fight against crime.
