Prompted by the success of the Good Citizen Award Scheme, which is aimed at encouraging members of the public to come forward to help fight crime, Tin Shui Wai Division has teamed up with the Yuen Long District Fight Crime Committee to organise the first Good Citizen Award Scheme for Schools in Tin Shui Wai to disseminate anti-drug messages on school campuses.

The Yuen Long District Office and the Yuen Long District Council have supported the scheme as a co-host and sponsor respectively.

Twenty-eight secondary students were awarded at the Award Presentation Ceremony held at the Tin Shui Wai Police Station on February 8. Among those officiating at the ceremony were Yuen Long District Fight Crime Committee Chairman, Mr Tang Chun-keung and other members of the Committee, New Territories North Regional Commander Peter Hunt, Yuen Long District Commander Li Kin-fai, and Tin Shui Wai Divisional Commander Wai Hang-mo.

After the ceremony, the students and guests visited Tin Shui Wai Division's Anti-Drug Farm to view display of police equipment and photos of the activities of the Division's Volunteer Team. The awarded students will also have the opportunity to join activities held by Tin Shui Wai Division Volunteer Team and do volunteer work in their spare time.

A total of 28 students are presented with certificates by New Territories North Regional Commander Peter Hunt and other guests of honour
