KWTDIST seminars well received |
||
In a bid to enlist public support for fighting crime, Kwai Tsing District (KWTDIST) held two law and order seminars at Kwai Chung and Tsing Yi Police Stations early last month. Both events saw a review of the law and order situation in the district in the past year and further strengthening of the ties between KWTDIST and various sectors of the local community. Among the 140 participants were District Council members, management staff of property management companies for residential and commercial buildings, mutual aid committee members and representatives from owners corporations. Kwai Chung Divisional Commander Phillip Bouttle and Tsing Yi Divisional Commander Wong Hon-kwan gave presentations on the latest crime trends and crime modus operandi in their divisions, while officers from the New Territories South Regional Crime Prevention Office gave talks on security and prevention of theft. The audiences of both seminars were quite enthusiastic in exchanging their views with the officers. KWTDIST hopes that feedback of the seminars would help it set operational priorities in the future.
