JPC AGM charts way forward | |||
The Junior Police Call (JPC) Annual General Meeting (AGM), chaired by Police Public Relations Branch Chief Superintendent (CSP) Ng Ka-sing, was held on March 6. Attending this year-end gathering were Central Advisory Board members, Police Community Relations Office staff, JPC Honorary Presidents and JPC members. During the AGM, a review was made, through attractive photos and a concise written presentation, of the JPC training and activities that took place last year, as well as the progress of the JPC 2nd Review activities. Those present took the view that JPC had a fruitful year in 2009, and offered inspiring ideas for the way forward. CSP Ng took the opportunity to present prizes to the winners of the "35th Anniversary Stamp Design". Following the presentation was the Annual Lunch, which was graced by the presence of Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, who is the JPC Chief Honorary President, and Commissioner Tang King-shing, the Deputy Chief Honorary President. Presenting 25-year service certificates to 12 Honorary Presidents, Mr Lee praised the recipients for their unfailing support for and contributions to JPC. Mr Tang presented appointment certificates to JPC Central Advisory Board members and 62 JPC instructors; 20-year service certificates to 41 Honorary Presidents; and Outstanding Awards to 35 Advanced Leaders for successfully completing four training modules. After the lunch, guests and JPC members flipped over the pages of a special booklet published to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the JPC Scheme. This booklet marks an important milestone of JPC.
