To support the Force's Physical Fitness and Health Management (PHM) Strategy, New Territories North (NTN) held the presentation ceremony of its Physical Fitness and Health Management Award Scheme on February 22.

As a prelude to the ceremony, NTN Regional Commander Peter Hunt started the PHM Spring Walk with officers along the Lam Tsuen River in a bid to encourage NTN Regional Headquarters officers to continue to put PHM into action and lead a healthy lifestyle.

At the ceremony that followed, letters of appreciation were presented to 35 PHM Ambassadors for organising various sporting activities and promoting a healthy lifestyle in the past year. A total of 282 officers were presented with awards for spending more than 150 hours in participating in PHM activities. Among them, 12 won Gold Award, 162, Silver Award and 108, Bronze Award.

Addressing the participants, Mr Hunt pointed out that the award scheme aimed at encouraging NTN Headquarters officers to participate in health and fitness activities, foster a healthy lifestyle, and maintain a good standard of physical and mental fitness commensurate with the requirements of their duties. He was also pleased with officers' participation in, as well as involvement after work in organisation of, PHM activities. He stressed that the officers would enhance their physical fitness and better understand one another, and that their effort would help create a close partnership and get the job done.

At the end of the ceremony, 46 new PHM Ambassadors were appointed to promote more activities with local characteristics and varieties.
