Force wins Caring Organisation Logo
for fifth consecutive year

 


The Force was awarded the "Five Consecutive Years Caring Organisation Logo 2005/10" by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service at the Caring Organisation Recognition Ceremony held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on March 25.

Officiating at the ceremony was the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang.  Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Chau Kwok-leung and Force Welfare Officer Alice Ho attended the ceremony on behalf of the Force.

It is a special award for an organisation that has captured the Caring Organisation Logo for five consecutive years. The Force has been honoured with the Logo from 2005/06 to 2009/10 for demonstrating good corporate citizenship in the following adjudication areas:

1. Caring for Community
Partners with local social service organisations in community improvement projects:
* Volunteering: Encouraging staff to take part in volunteer work.  
* Giving: Invest resources for better community life.
* Mentoring: Enhance the viability of the community by sharing knowledge and skill with partner organisations.
* Employing the Vulnerable: Support underprivileged individuals to enhance their employability.

2. Caring for Employees

* Recognise staff as important assets.
* Devote top management's time to listening to staff concerns.
* Offer resources to improve staff's physical and mental health for achieving work-life balance.

3. Caring for Environment

* Work with local social service organisations or relevant government departments to reduce waste, save energy and improve air quality.
* Establish mechanism to ensure that their production processes minimise negative impact on the environment.

The Force is entitled to use the Five Consecutive Years Caring Organisation Logo marked with years 2005/10 from March 1, 2010 to February 28, 2011 in promotional materials and activities to show the public that the Force is a socially responsible organisation.

Furthermore, being recipient of the "Total Caring Award - Organisation 2006/07", the Force is also entitled to display the designated logo in any promotional activity or material beyond 2007 as long as the Force renews the Caring Organisation status every year. The new Logo and its specification are now available on POINT.
