TMDIST promotes community harmony
The managerial personnel of Tuen Mun District (TMDIST) regularly visit the Non-Ethnic-Chinese (NEC) groups in the district in a bid to forge closer ties and communication. Recently, TMDIST Deputy District Commander Peter Cornthwaite called at mosques of NEC groups and discussed with NEC leaders matters of mutual concern.
Later, the TMDIST Police Community Relations Officer made arrangements for NEC leaders and primary and secondary students to visit the Junior Police Call (JPC) Clubhouse in Tai Hing Estate to understand the history and development of the JPC scheme. The visitors were impressed with what they saw: leadership training and training in their favourite sport, cricket.
TMDIST will continue to engage NEC leaders and groups so as to help them integrate into the local community.
