At the invitation of Information Systems Wing (ISW), three Police Communications Officers (PCO) have designed and produced an e-learning package for their colleagues to brush up their professional knowledge through self-learning. Nowadays, the term quality service is the emphasis for many businesses, and the Force is no exception. The package, besides a written presentation and interactive games, also features learning methods for self-enhancement. For example, in the section of "What to ask", there are sample questions for 12 different kinds of cases; "The Magic of Tone" shows the interpretation of sentences with different tones and "Way to express in Putonghua" demonstrates the proper ways to express in Putonghua with words and sound. Of this development, one of the PCOs, Lee Wai-kuen, said: "It is hoped that through the e-learning package the message of how to deliver quality services to the public would be brought home to all frontline officers." Another PCO Chow Mun-ki, added: "In designing the contents of the package, we reckoned that real-life cases would arouse the interest of Force members. Therefore, we adopted a real 999 case and used special effects to make the written presentation more interesting and appealing." PCO Lau Wing-che, extended special thanks to the staff of the Police College's Learning Technologies Division for their professional advice and technical support, and to those who had assisted in the sound track production. Force members may access the Quality Customer Service (Police Communications Officer) e-learning Package: POINT > Knowledge Management > Learning Portal > e-Learning (HKPF) > Others. |
