Key Points and Search Division Superintendent (SP) Lee Kiu-ki and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Bureau SP Yuen Hon-wing attended the 3rd China Symposium for Security Inspection and EOD in Hebei Province from March 30 to April 1. The symposium provided a good opportunity for them to exchange intelligence and share best practices with security forces on the Mainland as well as law enforcement officers from Asia and Europe.

About his study of the explosive disposal equipment on exhibition during the symposium, SP Yuen said: "I'm very impressed with the overall standard of the hardware on display and I will definitely give some of the kit a closer examination later."

SP Lee was one of the speakers at the symposium, giving in a packed conference room a presentation on how to benchmark the Force's search training, with the objectives of achieving the standard set by the Education Bureau's Qualification Framework, and providing a clear learning path and model for officers. He also spoke about the knowledge and experience gained from carrying out major security operations for the Handover anniversaries, the Beijing Olympic Equestrian Events and last year's East Asian Games.

"It was an honour for me to share my knowledge and experience with a distinguished audience," he noted.

The seminar attracted 86 delegates from 22 countries and regions.
