NTN seminar on communication with Mainland

As Hong Kong and the Mainland are getting closer and New Territories North (NTN) Region serves all six land boundary crossing points and to deal with many cross-boundary crimes, Crime NTN, in conjunction with Liaison Bureau (LB), held a seminar on the topic of communication with Mainland authorities for crime stream officers on March 31.

Presiding over the seminar, LB Senior Superintendent (SSP) Tang Ping-keung provided the officers with useful and practical information, including those on INTERPOL, Mainland policing, police co-operation, reporting mechanism, transfer of criminals, cross-boundary investigation and collection of evidence.

At the same time, Crime NTN SSP Leung Chin-wah impressed on the audience the importance of having good communication with Mainland authorities and understanding the needs of their Mainland counterparts and the forms of co-operation in investigation.

Over 100 officers from NTN crime units attended the seminar and took a great interest in the case study conducted at the meeting.
