'Long-term Undercover Operation' Seminar
Narcotics Bureau and Police College jointly held a seminar on "Long-term Undercover Operation" at Police Headquarters on March 29. Conducting the seminar at the invitation of the Police College was an experienced special agent of the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Since the Police College signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bangkok Branch of the International Law Enforcement Agency (ILEA) in 2006 for enhancing partnership and exchanges in training, the Force has not only sent officers to attend ILEA training courses, but also exchanged instructors with ILEA for cross-fertilisation of police knowledge. Arrangement of the DEA instructor to conduct the seminar was part of this co-operation. DEA is one of the law enforcement agencies which provide instructors for ILEA courses.
Fifty officers from crime units and special duty squads attended the seminar which they found inspiring and beneficial to their career developments.
