Commissioner Tang King-shing, senior directorate officers, Force members and their families turned out in force on the Physical Fitness and Health Management (PHM) Day held at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on May 9 and took part in an array of interesting activities and programmes. As was the case in previous years, the PHM Day featured exhibitions and booths on various health topics and fitness tests for families to find out how fit they are. The PHM Day also offered seminars on the most popular health topics like sports injuries, healthy lifestyle and strokes - all conducted by doctors and sports experts. The Auxiliary Medical Service and physiotherapists also provided different kinds of body checks (weight, height, blood, BMI) and Osteoporosis test. For the first time, two coaches from the Physical Association of Hong Kong gave a demonstration on the stretching exercises that are suitable to be done at the workplace. CP and many Force members followed instructions and practised the stretching exercises together. The "PHM Ball", three metres in diameter, was introduced this year for Force members and their families to experience a different type of exercise. The Shuttlecock Competition was highlight of the day when 14 teams from different Formations put up a great performance. At the end of the nail-biting competition, the "Second to None" Team from Identification Bureau captured the championship while the Tsuen 23 Team 2 and Tsuen 23 Team 1, both from Tsuen Wan District (TWDIST), clinched the second and third places. The Championships of the Physical Fitness Challenge (Open Group) for male and female went to Police Constable (PC) Ip Kwok-tung from Airport Security Unit and Woman Police Constable Chan Wai-man from Central Division. The Physical Fitness Challenge (Senior Group) was introduced this year, and Station Sergeant Lai Chi-fai from Sha Tau Kok Division captured the title. The participation of retired Sergeant Li Kwong-ming, approaching 60 years of age, and New Territories South Regional Commander Tse Shu-chun in the challenge contest showed there is no limit on age and rank for "Physical Fitness and Health Management". Finally, Mr Li and Mr Tse clinched the second and third places respectively. Achievements in sports and arts honoured
