The Disciplined Services Tennis Tournament made a comeback last month after being put on hold for eight years. Once again the Police Tennis Club had the honour of hosting the resumed tournament.

Under the auspices of the Police Tennis Club Honorary Patron, Mr Richard Tang, the Disciplined Services Tennis Tournament was launched early in 1990s to promote friendship and the tennis sport. Last held in 2002, the tournament has been restarted this year with the backing of the Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, Mr Tang and the other disciplined services.

The final play-off was held on April 17 at the Police College with the six-member Police Tennis Team, captained by Clement Lee and Ian Pang, pitting against its long-time rival, Fire Services Department. Both teams played their very best in front of Mr Lee, Director of Fire Services, Mr Gregory Lo, and Commissioner Mr Tang King-shing.  At the end, Police fought off their fierce rival and claimed the title.

On hand to support the tournament were guests from Correctional Services Department, Customs and Excise Department, Independent Commission Against Corruption and Immigration Department.

The tournament reached its climax when the Police Tennis Team received the Richard Tang's Trophy from Mr Lee.
