CMD Team looks at Singapore detention facilities
Assistant Commissioner (Support) Peter Hunt led a delegation of four officers from the Custody Management and Detention (CMD) Team of the Support Wing on a three-day duty visit to the Singapore Police Force last month.
Over the past two years, the CMD Team has reviewed the Force policy on custody management, upgraded detention facilities, and introduced revised guidelines and procedures of handling detained persons.
The delegation called at the Singapore Police Headquarters to discuss the policy on custody management and toured a centralised detention facility and a neighbourhood-policing centre.
The visit provided useful reference and best practices for the ongoing review of custody management.
