As part of the rollout of the revamped e-Learning Portal on June 7, the Police College launched the Force Computer Graphic Design Competition on May 24. All Force members, including police officers and civilian staff, are welcome to participate.

The Training and Development Plan for 2009-2011 has formulated a series of strategic goals to achieve the Commissioner's operational priorities and strategic directions. Among the goals, effective use of modern learning methods and technology has been highlighted as the way forward for training development.

Committed to developing e-Learning tools, Learning Technologies Division (LTD) has always been innovative and responsive to the rapidly changing IT world. The Force e-Learning Portal is a leading tool in providing a ready-to-use e-resources platform on POINT for all Force members. To further enhance this training tool, LTD launched the revamped e-Learning Portal earlier this month for Force members to access e-Learning packages, development resources, Training Day videos and materials and art library (including photos, Force PowerPoint templates and clip arts) with greater ease.

Chief Inspector (Learning Technologies) Iris Chan pointed out: "The competition is aimed at promoting the optimum use of the e-Learning Portal in training and learning; arousing colleagues' interest in computer graphic design as well as encouraging sharing of e-resources and knowledge. In addition, the competition is an opportunity for colleagues to show their design talent in computer graphics and PowerPoint templates."
