The past few days have been very
busy ones for our frontline units. Many of you have been deployed for long hours, in all sorts of weather, to police the various public events and activities surrounding the Legislative Council (LegCo)debate and vote on political reform. I also recognise that for several weeks, Regions and Districts have been doing an excellent job of policing a number of campaign activities associated with the LegCo vote. Under difficult conditions you have risen to the challenge to maintain public order and facilitate peaceful demonstrations, and once again, I am filled with pride at the personal and professional qualities of our frontline officers. At the same time, we have also had several successful enforcement operations, in particular, against the trafficking of dangerous drugs, and against illegal soccer gambling. Rest assured, your efforts are fully recognised by senior management and very much appreciated. I congratulate you all on a job well done. Keep it up! To reflect the professionalism of the frontline units, Police Public Relations Branch has filmed the policing work of the frontline officers for the constitutional reform debate at LegCo. The video has been uploaded to Police Public Page.
